A winter month in the Cerdanya
What working remotely from the Cerdanya is like in winter: sunny days, a short drive to the slopes and a working day that fits around them.

The Cerdanya is a wide, flat-bottomed valley high in the Pyrenees, shared between Catalonia and France. It is known for its many sunny days, even in the middle of winter.
Working around the light
A month here suits a simple rhythm: start early, take a long break in the middle of the day when the sun is at its warmest, and finish your work in the evening. Most teams won’t notice the difference, and you get the best hours outside.
Getting to the slopes
La Molina and Masella, the biggest ski areas nearby, are a short drive from Puigcerdà. On a weekday afternoon the slopes are quiet, which makes it an easy place for children to learn.
Before you book
- Ask for the home’s real internet speed, not just “Wi-Fi included”.
- Bring winter tyres or snow chains for the mountain roads.
- School holiday weeks fill up first, so book those early.
